Approaching the Cliff

I'm approaching the end of Chapter 9 in my revision. I'm also getting to the point where this stops being a revision and diverges into a new novel.

It's the same characters, ending up in the same place, BUT any sentence now they won't just be walking down a modified path. It'll be a new path entirely.

I'm skimming through the old path right now, trying to figure out what stays and what goes and where to build in the new. And what the new will be.

The new path is unfinished. It cuts into a dark, dense part of the woods I've never been to before. It's full of shadows and secrets.

I'm excited. But scared.

  1. Revisions kill me sometimes. I'm working on changing an entire subplot right now, and I'm thinking that everybody will wind up in a different spot by the end than originally written...sometimes I really hate having to do that, but I'm all for revisions that make a story better. Luck to you! :)
