Notify the OED

(OED=Oxford English Dictionary, for those of you who, like me, suck at acronyms)

This morning Husband and I came up with a new word. Allow me to share it with you.

shist
(shit + mist)

1. A disorienting, noxious cloud of BS, originating from the mouth of someone you dislike.

2. Invisible particles of verbal diarrhea that dim, obscure, or blur as well as enrage the listener: My boss's shist was so thick I couldn't remember what I had tried to speak to him about.

Try it out! Spread it around (the word, please, not the shist)!

In book store news, I just traded YA Fantasy book recommendations with a middle aged man. Many of the books featured female main characters. He said he prefers YA because the stories are innovative and hopeful. Yes yes yes, good sir, I couldn't agree more (says the writer who plans to rewrite her current novel to be YA).

  1. Did you know that the type of bedrock that the city of Manhattan rests on is called Schist? Makes you think, doesn't it?

  3. oh! as long as we're at it. i've been trying to spread the use of trikakta. it's the opposite of a trifecta - it's when the three worst possible things that could happen happen at once, thereby royally screwing up a situation. "kak" of course from the Yiddish "shit."

together, we can scatalogically take over the world!

  4. Hahaha, Teri Anne, that's fantastic!

Whaddaya, I'm liking trikakta. Odd that we've both coined words around "shit." Hmmm
