Hey, Mom. How's the weather?

"We're just sitting around the house, waiting to die."

This is an actual quote from my mom yesterday, when she was telling me what all the snow has been like in Connecticut. She said it in a matter-of-fact way as if this was entirely true. The boredom of being cooped up in the house has cranked her crazometer up from Charmingly Eccentric to Totally Nutty.

Needless to say, the dolls in Wooden Haven are all having new, handmade clothes made for them as we speak.

  1. Yeah my mom is hilarious. She hates to just sit around. On Saturday mornings when I was younger she'd wake my twin and I up and be all, "You're wasting the day!!" and she would have this real fear in her voice. To this day I will wake up early on Saturdays with fear. Then I go back to sleep.

  2. When you get down to it, aren't we all waiting to die in our own ways? (Okay, I'm going to stop dressing in all black and listening to The Cure now...) :)

A couple of quick thoughts related to "waiting to die"... There's this quote -- I think it comes from a song -- that goes "If you're scared to die, then you'd better not be scared to live." I've always liked that one. And there's the quote from Shawshank Redemption about "You can either get busy living, or get busy dying." That's a pretty good one, too.

Now I've got some living to do! (And by that, I mean that I'm going to bed...)
