Chills and Thrills

So yesterday I read about the book preview for Cindy Pon's book Silver Phoenix (which comes out *today*) on of my new favorite blogs Editorial Ass. Moonrat and anyone who commented on the post said the book preview was gorgeous and that the book looked awesome. I wanted to watch sooo badly but I was at work. I finally got to watch it just now.

Chills. It gave me chills. And once again I find myself putting YA on the top of my reading list. I keep trying to stick with adult Urban Fantasy, not because I don't like YA but because that's what I write. But there just seems to be more good YA out there, in my opinion.

Anyway, back to the chills. To make things even better, Ello is running a special contest on her blog Hello Ello 2 (where you can also see the book preview). If you enter you have a chance to win a signed copy of the book!!

I don't know about you, but I love signed copies. I'm always taking out my signed copy of Neverwhere and Arthur Spiderwick's Field Guide to the Fantastical World Around You and running my fingers over the signatures. So I'm definitely entering this contest and so should you!

In other awesome YA news, I just discovered that fellow Bates grad and all around really cool person and awesome writer Carrie Jones is already working on a sequel to her novel Need!

Good news all around and it's gorgeous out. It doesn't get much better than this.
