I like my books the way I like my life: with magic, strong female characters, and hope.

Next Week: The Story of Christmas with a Tolkien Twist
That's right, Reader. Next week I'll be bringing you a healthy dose of holiday FAN FICTION!
Yes, it's come to this. Fan fiction, people. Fan. Fiction.
I wrote the story years ago for my most favorite cousins Brave Sir G and Black Jack the Pirate Queen. It's the story of Christmas featuring the characters from Lord of the Rings.
Groan if you must, but I think the story is cute. Not a literary Achievement, but fun for Tolkien fans.
So be sure to stop by next week. I'll post the story in installments from next Monday-Friday.

Color me intrigued. I love the picture, too. Oh Gandalf. ~headshake and bemused smile~
ReplyDeleteI wrote exactly two fanfictions in my life. One for a contest for an online comic, the other a story I worked on with a friend back in high school, based in Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar world. I think I like reading them more than writing them. And this holiday can always use the sort of whimsy a LOTR Christmas fanfic brings. :)
All I can say is high school writing+Mercedes Lackey+fan fiction = total awesomesauce. And yeah, hoping the old fanfic can bring some holiday cheer to everyone--even the grumpy Gandalfs out there.
